Audi R8 e-tron Piloted Driving Concept Model Specs and Features

Audi is continuing to develop its piloted driving technologies, moving forward with a piloted driving concept car at CES Asia 2015. The Audi R8 e-tron piloted driving concept model specs and features are pointing us toward the future, and it sure is exciting.

So, let’s get right down to some of the nitty gritty details of this futuristic vehicle. The R8 e-tron piloted driving concept is amazingly powerful, delivering 340 kW of power while still managing an electric range of 450 kilometers, or 279.6 miles. It can also go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.

Despite all the power, the Audi R8 e-tron piloted driving concept can charge extremely fast. The sports car has a Combined Charging System that allows it to charge with direct and alternating current. This means that the driver can charge the large battery in under two hours time.

In today’s market, electric vehicles do have some limitations. With the power, range and fast charging capabilities of the Audi R8 e-tron piloted driving concept, however, it is not difficult to imagine a future where electric vehicles make up the majority of highway traffic.

The piloted driving system works by acquiring data from sensors, including a new form of laser scanner, video cameras, as well as ultrasonic and radar sensors. That information is then computed by a central computer that is able to put together a view of the vehicle’s surroundings.

High tech, powerful, efficient and beautifully designed, the Audi R8 e-tron piloted driving concept model specs and features sure do impress, and we certainly can’t wait for the day when we are able to experience such a model up close and personal.
