2017 Audi A4 and A4 Avant Revealed
2017 Audi A4 Specs and Release Date
Audi has recently revealed the 2017 Audi A4, alongside the 2017 Audi A4 Avant, with some highly exciting details. We can’t wait to see what the new Audi A4 has in store. Check out the 2017 Audi A4 specs and release date to learn more about this highly anticipated model.
One of the first things worth highlighting about the new A4 sedan is its drag coefficient. Audi has said that it has the best drag coefficient in its class, at 0.23. Another engineering feat is the low C02 emissions on both the A4 Sedan and A4 Avant.
The 2017 model is also lighter than its predecessor, despite growing dimensionally. Up to an impressive 120 kilograms, depending on the engine under the hood, has been shed from the vehicle.
The new Audi A4 and A4 Avant are said to be launching in Germany with seven engine options: three TFSI and four TDI. Power output ranges from 110 kW (150 hp) to 200 kW (272 hp). One engine in particular is the 2.0 TFSI ultra, producing 140 kW (190 hp) while still managing 4.8 liters per 100 km (49 US mpg) thanks to a new combustion method. The similar Avant model figures come out to 5.0 l/100km (47 US mpg). It is still unclear which of these seven engines available might end up making it over here to North America.
Audi also highlighted the optional Audi virtual cockpit. It is a digital combination instrument featuring a 12.3-inch LCD screen. The screen displays important vehicle information in high-resolution.
There is also said to be a touchpad in the rotary controller for the infotainment system, which features MMI navigation plus with MMI touch in addition to an 8.3-inch monitor. There is also a new and more natural voice-control system that can understand normal everyday language.
While the model is expected to be released to European countries in fall 2015, there is no word on when to expect it here in North America. Which features, specs or engines will make the trip overseas here is still unclear, but the information on the 2017 Audi A4 specs and release date that has been provided so far leaves us with a lot to get excited about.
