Audi Impresses With New Concept Car Engine Specs and Performance
Audi TT clubsport turbo concept engine specs and performance
The Worthersee Tour 2015 is taking place in Austria this month, and Audi has a few things planned for fans of the luxury vehicle brand. Among the list of information is a new concept car, the Audi TT clubsport turbo concept, combining a powerful TFSI engine with an electric biturbo. The Audi TT clubsport turbo concept engine specs and performance features are pretty impressive.
The model is said to be inspired by the Audi 90 IMSA GTO from the late 1980s. The 2.5 TFSI engine produces 650 Nm or 479.4 lb.-ft. of torque. It can deliver 441 kW or 600 horsepower, and it sure is powerful.
One of the special features of the Audi TT clubsport turbo concept is the electric biturbo. It is said to allow a boost in torque and sprinting ability. Audi has said that the technology is close to being ready for production in combination with TDI engines, but the concept car combines it with the TFSI.
The car weighs just 1,396 kg or 3,077.7 pounds, helping it travel from 0 to 100 km/h (or 0 to 62.1 mph) in just 3.6 seconds. That’s fast, and it gets even faster, with a top speed of 310 km/h or 192.6 mpg. This is where the electrically driven compressor comes into play, allowing the concept car to cover 16 meters, or 52.5 ft., in just the first 2.5 seconds.
The electrically driven compressor can do more than just make the car fast, though. In lower engine speed range, the electrically driven compressor can work to boost torque by an impressive amount, up to 130 Nm or 95.9 lb.-ft. of torque.
Audi continues to impress with innovative technology, such as the achievements exhibited in the Audi TT clubsport turbo concept engine specs and performance.
